Beautiful Ugly
Three friends with different struggles rely on God and each other to get by. Layla Hobbs has so much to offer, including a beautiful singing voice,
but obesity and low self-esteem hold her back from life and finding true love. Envy Wilson has always been Layla's backbone. But what about her own
dark secrets? She won't share them with anyone, and it's starting to eat away at her from the inside. And then there's Kacie Mayweather.
Stricken with cerebral palsy, she's had her share of men--five baby daddies for six children, in fact. But she's never had one man to call her own.
They'll need plenty of faith and support from each other to see the real beauty that lies within each one of them and fulfill their deepest desires at last.
Claudette: Nicely written story!
You can have beauty on the outside but have ugly on the inside. Envy was a nice looking woman had a great job a nice home, but had ugly secret's
that she kept from her friends and family, the fact that she left her newborn baby in a toilet in high school, and has had numerous sex partners.
Even the deepest darkest ugly God will forgive!
Layla was also a nice looking woman with an angelic voice but her ugly was glutney and her complaints about being over weight. Then the unthinkable
happened for her to start losing weight, she was shot in the stomach. God steps in and heal her wombs.
Kacie again was also a pretty girl her ugly was have baby after baby after baby with different men.Kacie is dealing with self-esteem issues because
of her cerebral palsy. God has given her 6 then 1 more, healthy well behaved kids. This was a page turner love it.
Melba: This was a great Christian fiction novel
I could relate to all three of the main characters. Especially Envy because she was afraid of relationships and letting her guard down.
Some relationships leaves us emotionally damaged. I was happy for Layla, she deserved the postman. I pictured him to look like Lamman Rucker.
Lamman played in Why Did We Get Married (Sheriff Troy). Now Kacie, reminded me of the little old lady that lived in a shoe that had so many children
she didn't know what to do. Having a baby doesn't make a man stay with you. It's good news to know that no matter how ugly you think your sin is;
God is still standing with his arms wide open waiting for us to come to him, repent, and turn from our wicked ways.
Yolanda: Let me just say OMG!!!
This book was wonderful! I enjoyed every moment of it. Of course I identified myself with Layla because of her weight issues. It made me realize
somethings about myself. Downing one self can be more hurtful than hearing it from other people! Envy found peace in Ms Rawlings which allow her to
come to peace with God about her what she thought was an unforgivable sin. Sometimes God uses other people in ur life to make you see who he is
and what he is capable of doing. Kaci , well so many young and old woman are looking for love in all the wrong places and the wrong way and for mere
acceptance. Glad she realized that being used is not the answer. It was an great read and eye opener!! Two thumbs up!!!!!!!!!
Angela:
This book hit home for me…the more I read the more I wanted to read..God is so great!..I found myself relating to Envy and her sister Nikkei and
their relationship with their mother..when their mother passed away I found myself re-living my own mother's death….I cried but still realizing
death here on earth is not our final death it is where our soul will spend eternity! Envy, Kacie and Layla were true friends…no matter their
faults they were always there for one another through the good and the bad times.
Daina: I thought this was a very good book!!!
I thought that this was a very good book. Three friends who are beautiful in their own way, but their ugly traits keep them from finding
true happiness. I can relate to all the women in this book. Kacie- sleeping with different men wanting to be loved and wanted by somebody.
Layla- low self-esteem and feeling that you're not pretty or good enough for somebody to really love you. Envy- letting the past hurt and
hold you from the future that GOD has planned. I have learned that GOD is the solution to every situation or problem because HE is bigger
than them all.
